Spinning For Autism
My current focus centers on the Fourteenth Annual Spinning for Autism event, scheduled for January 28th, 2024. This event, organized by volunteers, parents, and community members, seeks to raise awareness and funds for the Shining Through Centre for Children with Autism.
Founded in 2001, the Shining Through Centre provides intensive educational programs using Applied Behaviour Analysis, benefiting children diagnosed with autism. Despite the success of ABA-based therapy, families face the dual challenge of caring for a child with autism and the financial burden of therapy, surpassing $70,000 per child annually. In the past twelve years, the Spinning for Autism event has gathered over 170 participants annually, raising $550,000 for the Shining Through Centre.
